Ever since his ‘Control’ verse, on which he reels off a list of fellow rappers he “has love for” but is nonetheless still “tryna murder”, Kendrick Lamar has established something of a stand-off with Drake.
The Nothing Was The Same rapper hit back in an interview, claiming that Lamar is “giving people moments”, something “real cool for a couple weeks” but unlikely to withstand the test of time, and now another attack has come in the form of a verse for a new BET cypher, taped for the upcoming BET Hip Hop awards.
“Yeah, and nothing’s been the same since they dropped ‘Control’”, Lamar raps, ”And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pyjama clothes / Ha-ha jokes on you, high-five, I’m bulletproof/ Your shit’ll never penetrate/ Pin the tail on the donkey/ Boy you been a fake.”
Check out a short preview of the incendiary performance below.
