Ambient soundscaper, Julianna Barwick has offered up a video accompaniment to the first track lifted from her follow-up to her 2011 debut The Magic Place.
Her second studio effort, to be released via her new home of Dead Oceans, Nepenthe will be out next week in the UK (and on 20 August in North America). It was recorded in Iceland with Alex Somers, of Jónsi & Alex, Múm and a “teenage female choir”. It follows on from Barwick’s recent collaborations Helado Negro and Ikue Mori.
You watch the clip to one of the cuts, ‘One Half’, beneath. Barwick plays London’s St Giles Church on 29 August.
