Jay Z to donate money to performance artist Marina Abramović
Having been inspired by the artist in his recent video for ‘Picasso Baby’, Jay Z now looks set to make a big donation to the Marina Abramović Institute.
As the Gallerist reports, the company’s Giuliano Argenziano has confirmed that, as well as financial investment, the rapper will “offer the institute some other form of ongoing support”, setting up a “long-durational collaboration”.
Jay Z recently paid homage to Abramović in his aforementioned clip for the Magna Carta Holy Grail track and specifically her 2010 performance art piece, The Artist Is Present. The video saw Hov performing the song for six hours straight.
