Dave Chappelle plays Kanye West's 'New Slaves' after getting heckled at comeback show
U.S comedian Dave Chappelle made a rare live performance since quitting his Comedy Central show back in 2005, with the comeback of sorts ending badly after the stand-up took not so greatly to the audience talking over his gig.
Chappelle was part of the Oddball Festival travelling line-up, which kicked off in Hartford, Connecticut last night (29 August).
“Not since my son was born was 30 minutes that long,” at the tail-end of the set, after wasting the last portion of the show making idle chatter after being repeatedly heckled and failing to capture the 30,000-strong audience’s full attention.
Chappelle also reportedly told his sound guy to play ‘New Slaves’ after saying “Man, this crowd sucks” and cutting off the mic. You can watch footage from the set below:
