Damon Albarn finished recording debut solo album
While prepping a possible new Blur record, the group’s frontman Damon Albarn is keeping busy with plans for a solo album on the side.
The singer recently confirmed to Rolling Stone that he’s just finished recording his first-ever solo LP release, telling the publication that it’s “sort of folk soul”. The album is said to be recorded with and produced by XL Recordings boss Richard Russell.
Expanding on any new Blur material in the works, Albarn added: “We’ve got a couple of occasions when we’re stuck in the middle of nowhere. So we might make the record in a week. If we can, it would be nice.”
Damon is set to tour in support of the aforementioned debut solo album release, which has no due date yet confirmed. It follows on from 2003′s solo double EP Democrazy.
