Having recently embarked on a romantic vacation to Cuba, hip-hop power-couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z have returned to find their trip abroad subject to political debate in the States.
Pitchfork report that two Republican politicians - Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart – have requested for more information about the pair’s venture to a country with U.S-imposed travel restrictions.
The representatives of Congress told the NY Times:
“Cuba’s tourism industry is wholly state-controlled. Therefore, U.S. dollars spent on Cuban tourism directly fund the machinery of oppression that brutally oppresses the Cuban people.”
The State Department, however, have said they have no record of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Cuban holiday.
