Listen: The Night VI - "Too Late To Lie" [Premiere]
The Night VI charge forth as an orchestral powerhouse on brand new track "Too Late To Lie", premiering today on Best Fit.
2014 was a promising year for the band with a spread of strong covers, remixes and a second EP. They release a new, as-yet-untitled, 6-track EP later this year.
First track "Too Late To Lie" is wonderfully kinetic with a trudging bassline and palm-muted delay that mirrors singer Sophie-Rose's burgeoning desires: "these dreams/how long will it take/to come alive?" We are swept up in the song's crystalline wave of razor-sharp keys, warm harmonies, ocean deep rhythms and soaring guitar chases - and left to soak in its glowing beauty.
Speaking about the track, Sophie-Rose said: "'Too Late To Lie' was written in June 2013. It explores the struggle of suppression, when you know you feel a great deal for someone but it is a forbidden kind of love so you choose not to follow it. With nowhere to turn you bury it and in this song it explores the loneliness that comes with that. Not only do you risk losing that person and it becoming too late to conquer it but along the way it all becomes clear that it's too late to lie."
The Night VI are coming up quietly on the inside track. Don't miss them in 2015.
