Listen: Thea & The Wild - "Heartattack" [Premiere]
Thea Glenton Raknes, AKA Thea & The Wild, has uncovered the latest single from her forthcoming first full-length, Strangers & Lovers.
The Norwegian Jack-of-all-trades has already garnered a plethora of positive press for her singing, songwriting, multi-instrumentaling and now, producing. However, it's not just Raknes that comprises Thea & The Wild - she collaborates with many artists, with 'The Wild' currently comprising Kenneth Ishak (Beezewax, Heyerdahl), Ådne Meisfjord (120 days), Stina Moltu Marklund (Stina Stjern, Supervixen) and Joachim Amundsen Trana (Hypertext, Casiokids).
Speaking about the track, Raknes explained the anxiety that galvanised her process:
"I was at a festival and stood right outside a circle of people, wanting to go in and talk to them but I felt shy, like I was too small. I don't really know if it was my own head or them that created the situation. Anyways, nobody noticed anything and I just stood there with a really heavy, strange and sad feeling. It reminded me of school, when the other kids didn't let you join in on their games. It's insignificant to them but to you it means everything. I'm very happy this song came out of it, though."
Raknes' debut LP Strangers & Lovers is due out January 12 via Jansen Plateproduksjon.
