Listen: Postiljonen – Supreme [Best Fit Premiere]
After reaching a highly respectable Number 32 in our Favourite 50 Favourite Songs of 2012 with debut single ‘How Will I Know / All That We Had Is Lost’, Sweden’s Postiljonen had big boots to fill in terms of a follow-up release. With the suitably titled ‘Supreme’, they’ve delivered the goods – and then some.
Still drenched with the same sense of teenage longing and wistful nostalgic haze of their previous release, ‘Supreme’ is everything we originally loved about this mysterious group to begin with – only bigger. Postiljonen on steroids, if you will. Effervescent synths instantly ignite the song and propel the track to anthemic status within seconds, whilst the distant multi-layered vocals - reminiscent of M83′s ‘Midnight City’ – soften the edges; all swooning, subdued and massively endearing.
Its accompanying Ty Olson directed video, premiered below, depicts a love triangle between three (painfully attractive) youngsters: – all wistful, gazing looks and lingering kisses set against a truly stunning coastal backdrop.
If the above visuals are all too much to take in, then enjoy the stream of the track – alongside a lovingly crafted remix by fellow Swede Niva – below.
‘Supreme’ is released digitally via Hybris today and available to purchase immediately through iTunes.
