Listen: George Maple – Gripp (ft. Kilo Kish and Kwes)
If there’s one thing that George Maple excels at, it’s sass. The epitome of chic, the young Australian expat who now resides in London has been on our radar for some time now and although her musical output has thus far been sporadic, it’s consistently fuelled by a knowing confidence and cocksure pace. Less is more, perhaps.
“I’m ashamed to admit it, but I’ll take my clothes off at your beck and call // I should be expanding my pallet but you taste so good, I don’t wanna let you go” – ‘Gripp’ is Maple in pure minx mode. A free download via Parlez Parlez, the track features a guest turn from the loose tongued NYC female MC Kilo Kish whilst Kwes offers up his usual next level production.
An intimate, almost voyeuristic slice of downbeat dub – ‘Gripp’ leaves you feeling like a peeping Tom that’s been unexpectedly trapped inside Maples’ closet. Take a peek inside below.
