Angelina Lucero and Jojo Yang of Chicago's IDYLL have just two songs to their name but sound like they've been writing music for an eternity. New song "Bad Boi" is an remarkably established cut.
Centred on sugary-sweet synths and lyrics about getting down 'n' dirty, the track presents an odd though alluring juxtaposition of timidity and confidence. Slow-mo beats and ghostly atmos sit beneath starry-eyed keys making it the perfect companion for when day turns to night; light to dark - much like its interesting musical contrasts.
Promising stuff from a duo we know next-to-nothing about, but who we'll definitely be keeping an eye on.
