Folly Rae previews new EP with slick, bass-heavy jam "U"
Pop soloist Folly Rae made quite an impression back in April with her moreish debut song "Hard To Love".
Now the newcomer is back and is ready to unleash her new EP Money and Power. "U" is the perfect track to whet our appetite.
Riding an impossibly low bass groove, "U" hears Rae expound the fickleness of love ("you fucked me I hate you/you're the only one I love to be around"), splicing her musings with a male vocal counterpart and ghostly echoes.
Rae explains: "this song is an insight into my ever changing mind - one minute I love him and I forgive him, the next minute I hate him and couldn't think of anything worse than being close to him. It's the fine line of love and hate mixed with my inability to make a decision - that 'U'".
Another confident cut from a promising newcomer - and someone we'll be keeping an eye on.
Catch Folly Rae live at her Money and Power EP launch at Hackney’s Paper Dress Vintage this Thursday, 28 July.
