Best Girl Athlete streams groove-riddled folk-pop cut "Seven Seconds" [Premiere]
Best Girl Athlete is sharing her new single "Seven Seconds" on Best Fit ahead of its release later this month.
The 16-year-old Aberdeen singer-songwriter, born Katie Buchan, employs dusty Americana flitterings throughout the tune, with soft violins, handclaps and shuffly tambourines all bolstering the folksy hook. It's a remarkably assured track, warping and bending from its gentle beginnings into a funky, hamorny-laden, groove machine by its end.
So far Buchan's gained support across Scotland, but with a US jaunt reportedly in the works, she looks set to expand her fanbase exponentially over the coming months.
"Seven Seconds" is out on 27 June via Fit Like Records.
