Watch: Benjamin Yellowitz - "Ash Wednesday" [Premiere]
British singer-songwriter Benjamin Yellowitz is sharing the video for new single "Ash Wednesday" and has released it for free download.
The cut begins a slow-burning pop ballad with flecks of Bastille before slowly contorting into a deathly Gothic sidewinder. There's a subtle funk to his gruff acoustic turns, and a sense of industrial swagger; essentially, boiled down, Yellowitz presents a glowering stripped-back desert funk tune - think Queens Of The Stone Age meets Pharrell.
The video, a harrowing blend of demonic rituals and warped horror movie tropes, highlights every flicker of darkness in his voice.
The Benjamin Yellowitz EP is out 27 April.
