Listen: Prides - "I Should Know You Better" [Premiere]
Fresh off a US tour with Magic Man, Prides are back with another bracing slice of upfront electro-pop in “I Should Know You Better”. We are delighted to have the premiere after Zane Lowe’s first play on BBC Radio One.
Prides have received much deserved attention off the back of just a few singles and an EP. Last year, the force of debut single “Out Of The Blue” hit the blogosphere hard with its no-frills punch pop, soon to be challenged by their follow-up “Messiah” (from The Seeds You Sow EP). It’s the remarkable confidence of this young trio that baffles every time the play button is hit, and they’ve got us locked in their grip again on this brand new cut.
Centred on a warm three-chord synth pattern, “I Should Know You Better” is quickly pummelled with radiant harmonies and bright production that work to stimulate a suitably euphoric high. Much like the band’s previous singles, “I Should Know You Better” lurches forward full in the knowledge of its sheer anthemic power. We’re duly pulled into the charge.
“I Should Know You Better” is released on 29 September. The band are also about to embark on UK tour:
1 August – Leopallooza Festival, Cornwall
2 August – Ynot Festival, Derbyshire
6 August – Brixton Academy, London (supporting Blink-182)
