Luke Howard's new composition "The Ends" will leave you breathless
Melbourne-based musician Luke Howard is sharing new single "The Ends" on Best Fit.
Howard is a classically trained pianist with experiences as a composer for TV and film. Perhaps it's this experience working with visuals that helps Howard create such vivid oeuvres; perhaps it's an innate talent. Whatever the case, this latest preview of impending LP Two Places is captivating from start to finish.
Although only three-and-a-half minutes long, the compisition whisks you through the gamut of the human condition. It's all at once pensive, traumatic, enriching, and eternally hopeful, with Howard using lush melodies to sculpt a moving neo-classical number that transcends genre. It touches upon Dardust, Sigur Rós, and the thrilling score from The Truman Show, but never feels derivative. By the time the brass enters in the final moments, you'll already be breathless.
Two Places is out 22 April via Lukktone. It follows Sun, Cloud.
