Tricky collaborator and smog-pop artist Francesca Belmonte has revealed her debut single, "Stole".
It's a ramshackle cut, smooshing together myriad elements: Southern gothic guitars, '90s trip-hop beats, soulful smoky-throated triplet vox and an eerie droning atmosphere. The disparate segments of the track aren't slapped together with reckless abandon however, and the bizarre brew is uniquely beguiling.
Belmonte's debut LP is expected next year on Tricky's False Idols label.
