Charlie Barnes hits hard with new single "Easy, Kid" [Premiere]
Post-pop act Charlie Barnes is sharing new single "Easy, Kid", taken from upcoming LP More Stately Mansions, exclusively on Best Fit.
The new single is a gradual evolution, nodding to Radiohead on its way through just over five minutes of piano-led poppy post-rock. Barnes utilises dynamic shifts and sinewy layers to sculpt a rock-solid, emotional track that zaps you in the chest; it's not an all-out tirade, rather a trickling rivulet that gathers emotional momentum, eventually leaving you gasping for breath without you even knowing why.
More Stately Mansions is out via Superball Music on 11 May.
Stream the track below, and then watch Barnes perform it in a live session afterwards.
