Produced by Communion co-founder Ian Grimble, the debut album from Scottish newcomer Rachel Sermanni is one of understated bliss. The twelve finely crafted tracks that make up Under Mountains not only mark the arrival of an incredibly talented new vocalist, but a highly able multi-instrumentalist to boot. Each song flecked with a gentile beauty, Under Mountains is as close to a perfect folk record you’re likely to hear this year.
