”Distance is an album about moving further away from one place to get closer to another”, says Dan Michaelson of his new record with The Coastguards. “It was written over a long period inspired by some beautiful places where you see huge changes in the simplest things, but recorded quickly and spontaneously in just a handful of days. Although it doesn’t always sound like it, I had the best time recording this album with some of my favourite people… Laurie Earle, Horse, Henry Spenner, Gabriel Stebbing, Romeo Stodart and Johnny Flynn.
