Taylor Swift, Alt-J, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd & more all up for 2013 MTV VMA Awards

The nominations for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards have just been announced, with a whole host of pop and alternative acts up for accolades.

The coveted ‘Video of the Year’ award is being contested for by Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke and Macklemore, while Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, A$AP Rocky, Beyoncé, Miguel, Janelle Monae, Lana Del Rey, Alt-J, Vampire Weekend and more have nominations elsewhere.

Meanwhile, both The Weeknd and Iggy Azalea are set to battle it out for MTV’s predictive ‘Artist To Watch’ category.

The event ceremony will take place next month, on 25 August at New York’s Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Check out the full list of nominations below:
