The Duke Spirit’s Dan Higgins with producer Chris Goss
The Duke Spirit have been asked to support Queens Of The Stone Age and Eagles Of Death Metal at the Pacific Ampitheatre - Costa Mesa, California on 22nd July. A major coop for the band who are currently in the Californian desert finishing up the follow up to debut Cuts Across The Land. Chris Goss is at the helm who produced the Queens of the Stone Age latest album Era Vulgaris. QOTSA frontman Josh Homme has already stopped by the studio as well as Eagles of Death Metal’s Jesse “The Devil” Hughes, who, according to The Duke’s singer Leila Moss “(he) came by to hear our latest track and show us his homemade Duke Spirit T-shirt. How very kind and what a moustache!”
The band have recorded the album in a make shift house-come-studio, and are currently condensing down 30 tracks written to 12 for the as-yet untitled album. Tracks confirmed for the release are ‘Neptune,’ ‘My Sunken Treasure,’ ‘The Step and the Walk’ and ‘Autoharp.’ The group have compared the album to the local tortoise - hard and ugly, but ever so friendly!
